Breaking Free from Societal Constraints: The defiant act of being seen.

1. Women are Taught to be Small

From a tender age, girls encounter societal messages that encourage them to diminish their presence, conform to narrow standards, and prioritize others' needs above their own. These pervasive teachings instill feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt, compelling women to shrink themselves to fit into predefined roles. Does this sound like you?

Have you been told to be thinner, take up less space, talk softer, stifle loud boisterous laughter, prioritize the needs and feelings of others above your own? I know I have.

I don’t know about you but most of my life I have been riddled with the experience of imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and a constant fear of not being enough. I have struggled to win the non-existent perfection prize for decades. I have been told to be extraordinary and yet society constantly reinforces that I am enough. I manage feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, depression, and a sense of disconnection from my true self.

But what if you can break free from being small and grow into your divine authentic self? What if you celebrated your imperfections and defied societal constraints to make yourself small and grew into the goddess that you are?

2. Coveting Goddesses: A Quest for Confidence

Oh to be a goddess. They are revered across cultures and faiths for their grace, beauty, strength, and confidence.

Goddesses serve as powerful archetypes, representing the embodiment of feminine strength, grace, and wisdom. They command respect, exude confidence, and embrace their unique gifts without apology. I want these things.

Goddesses are beacons for your dreams of empowerment and inherent worth. Beyond mere fascination, have you fantasized about becoming a goddess - yearning to be revered in such a way and to present yourself with unwavering confidence. I know I have.

What if you didn’t need external validation? What if you validated yourself by the richness of their own internal essence tapping into a deep reservoir of strength and resilience. What if you honored your intuition, nurtured your creativity, and boldly took up space without reservation.

True power lies in your authenticity and compassion for self - this is not about arrogance or superiority but about embracing your unique gifts and honoring the goddess within.

3. The Fear of Being Seen

Despite the prevalence of social media and documentation, many women recoil from being photographed or appearing in public. This reluctance stems from societal pressures, fear of judgment, and the relentless pursuit of unattainable beauty standards. The bombardment of unrealistic beauty standards and the constant exposure to curated Instagram perfection can breed feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt, leading women to feel hesitant about being captured on camera. Does this sound familiar?

It breaks my heart that women, including myself, hate every picture of themselves and critique their looks with a fine tooth comb. The fear of judgment and scrutiny for not having make-up on, an out of place fat-roll, your hair not done, or grey hairs poking through prevents them from being present and capturing a joy? In a culture that values appearance over substance, this fear of criticism places undue stress on being in the spotlight, preferring to remain behind the scenes where you can feel safe from prying eyes.

What if you asked you body what she needed and she responded “to love me just as I am - right now.

Challenge the narrow mold society places you in even when you feel uncomfortable.

Be in the pictures.

4. The Sanctuary of Safe Spaces: Unleashing the Inner Goddess

The power of creating a safe space lies in its ability to unlock our your potential and manifest your inner goddess. Tap into your intuition, reclaim your queendom, stand in your power, ground your sacred feminine, move towards rewilding and exude pure goddess energy.

Where do those spaces exist? They lie within you when you trust yourself to be seen.

We can choose to cultivate this sanctuary of safety and support through a network of women who use their light to help others see the things hidden in plain sight. This network of women can not only nourish our own souls but also uplift those around us, creating a ripple effect of healing and transformation. Together, let us create safe spaces where our inner goddesses can shine brightly and illuminate the world with our divine radiance.

5. Being Seen and Changing Perspectives

Authentic visibility is transformative and empowering. Embrace your true self and challenge societal norms.

By shifting perspectives and embracing vulnerability, you can manifest your inner goddesses and boldly take up space. Your story will inspire others to do the same.

Being seen is more than just being noticed; it's about stepping into the fullness of who you are and owning our unique gifts. When you allow yourselves to be seen authentically, we invite others to witness the beauty of our truth and embrace the power of vulnerability.

Changing perspectives begins with a shift in mindset—a willingness to challenge limiting beliefs, embrace new possibilities, and see yourself for your gifts and not your deficits. Reframing your thoughts into a place of abundance expands your horizons and opens up space for endless opportunities for growth and self-discovery.

Manifesting your inner goddess is a journey of self-empowerment and transformation. It requires courage to tap into the depths of your soul unleash the divine energy that resides within. When you embody the qualities of your inner goddess—strength, wisdom, compassion—you radiate a magnetic presence that inspires others to do the same.

Let’s be authentically seen, change our perspective on how we see ourselves and manifest our inner goddess. You are not stuck in one place - move toward radical joy and pleasure. Discard anything that thwarts your joy.

Your true power lies in embracing your authentic self and shining your light brightly for all to see. Let us embrace this journey with courage and conviction, together.

Thank you for going on this journey with me.

Vee Davis

Who am I? I’m Vee, an artist out of Colorado. I am adorable, charming, and delightfully awkward. I am likely one of the most passionate and enthusiastic people you will ever meet. I am also a recovering people pleaser. I am a whimsical, nerdy Huffleclaw. My personal mission - to create a more engaged, connected, and purpose-driven community one relationship at a time through my art.

I create bright, bold, beautiful ethereal art. My art is for people who are ready to step into their power, to find their beauty, celebrate their gifts, and manifest their inner goddess. (My art is conduit to help me find these things, too). I believe that art heals and nourishes our soul. It connects people to themselves and others in profound, emotional, and unseen ways.

For decades, I was afraid to take up space. I allowed others to define my value and worth. I could see everyone's hidden potential but failed to see the power inside of me. Not anymore. Sometimes you need to find your light. I choose to use my light to help others see the things hidden in plain sight. You are and have always been enough. Even in your brokenness - it is how the light gets in.

I love the smoothness and deep rich color that Prismacolor pencils provide coupled with the artistic freedom of digital art. My art consists of manifesting goddess vibes, blooming in flowers, whimsy creatures, Colorado-themed work, and fan art.

Thanks for going on this artsy journey with me.
